In fact, the main danger is not the vegetable itself, but the method and technology of its preparation. How often do you see popcorn today without added chemicals and flavors? In the main places of its distribution - cinemas, it is not for nothing that seductive aromas of strawberry, chocolate, vanilla reign, and the product itself is literally filled with sugary-sweet glaze.
Experts have long been interested in the consequences that the use of popcorn can bring, here's what they found out:
- When preparing delicacies, a huge amount of salt and sugar is used, there is no need to explain that salt is not the most useful seasoning, since it tends to retain water in the body, and sugar is the cause of obesity, diabetes and additional stress on the liver and pancreas.
- Popcorn production technology involves the addition of palm oil. When fats accumulate and break down, they release carcinogens, which, in turn, can cause cancer.
- Manufacturers add diacetyl to frying oil, which enhances the taste and aroma of the product, but in large quantities can have a very negative effect on human health, in particular, affect the respiratory system.

The fact is that the metal for such a container contains a harmful chemical compound - toxic biphenol. The ailments that it can cause can be listed for a very long time, but most often there are pathologies such as infertility, breast and prostate cancer, diabetes, diseases nervous and cardiovascular system.
The process of getting biphenol into the body from tin cans into the contents is not so simple. The most favorable factor for this is an acidic environment, then mixing occurs faster. That is why the risk is increased by eating tomatoes and pasta. To minimize it, you don't have to give up your favorite vegetables at all, you just need to make it a rule to buy tomatoes in glass, not iron cans.
Sweeteners 
Sugar by itself is not the most useful product, everyone knows that in large quantities it causes diabetes, obesity and dental problems. Therefore, a myth was artificially created that the use of sweeteners and sugar substitutes would bring much less harm. Supposedly "healthy" supplements are especially popular in low-calorie meals and chewing gum.
To find out what kind of damage sweeteners can actually bring, one should make a reservation about its origin, because there are natural sweeteners, and there are synthetic ones. Natural (fructose, xylitol) are harmful, but no more than ordinary sugar, their main disadvantage is that they spoil the figure. Stevia, a sweetener obtained from the plant of the same name, is considered more or less safe.
As for synthetic sweeteners, everyone has long been aware of their dangers. Here are the most famous ones:
- Sodium and calcium cyclamates are 40 times sweeter than regular sugar. Low in calories and tolerates high temperatures well. However, it is banned in many countries, as it is dangerous during pregnancy and breastfeeding, kidney failure. In Russia, it is popular due to its low cost.
- A substitute for aspartame is used in baked goods and sodas. This type of sweetener is the most harmful and widespread, when exposed to high temperatures it breaks down into toxic compounds, which causes migraines, nausea, weakness, allergies and an unstable emotional state.
- Acesulfame potassium contains methanol, provokes problems with the nervous and cardiovascular system, is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women.
- Saccharin is a carcinogen that can provoke the formation of tumors.
- Xylitol and sorbitol have a choleretic and laxative effect, and cause bladder cancer.
Smoked meats

All vitamins, trace elements and minerals are removed from it artificially, so refined sugar has absolutely no benefit. - Flavors and dyes give the sweet liquid an attractive color and smell, mainly sodium benzoate is used for this, which, having reacted with ascorbic acid, turns into benzene, a dangerous carcinogen that causes cancer.

Genetically modified products are those in which a gene from other plants or even animals has been specially introduced in order to improve their quality, for example, to give a better taste or increase the shelf life.
Of course, there are advantages of this technology, and they consist in economic benefits. However, many scientists are already thinking about the future consequences of the use of transgenic organisms (plants).
It has been proven that the “target gene” is not capable of being introduced into the human gene, however, it can provoke the synthesis of proteins, which, in turn, will lead to disruption of the functioning of organs and systems. For example, weaken the immune system, disrupt the metabolism, the work of the gastrointestinal tract, and affect the appearance of malignant tumors.
