"The Snow Queen": why is it always cold
Most of the time, people ignore the fact that their extremities are cold. Considering this discomfort to be a temporary or seasonal phenomenon. Sometimes they get used to it and don’t pay attention. The feeling of cold in the hands and feet occurs most often in autumn or early spring, when the human body is most susceptible to hypothermia. In some cases, poor circulation is to blame.
Why are my feet constantly cold?
The legs maintain the temperature balance in the human body, being a kind of regulator. The fact is that it is not at all easy for the heart to deliver blood to the legs, since they are very distant. Therefore, they must be hardened and careful care must be taken not to cause cooling.
Causes of perpetually cold feet:
- The feet can get cold for those who constantly wrap them up, even at normal temperatures. Often these are those people who are prone to disruptions in the functioning of the autonomic system.
- Keeping your legs pressed for a long time also causes freezing. In this situation, blood flows poorly to the legs and blood circulation is impaired. Gradually, the legs begin to turn blue, and then become completely cold.
- Hypothermia. In this case, the feet remain cold until they are warmed up.
- If a person has ever had frostbite on his feet, then for a long time afterwards he may suffer from the fact that his limbs are constantly cold.
- Another very popular reason for cold feet is diet. The reason is simple, the body lacks an energy resource, that is, food.
In addition to all of the above, cold legs can be the result of a certain kind of disease: anemia, vegetative-vascular dystonia, peripheral vascular disease, venous stasis, problems with blood pressure.
Why are my hands always cold?
Cold hand syndrome often affects females (from fifteen to forty-five). This is due to the fact that heat exchange in a woman’s body is weaker than in men. It could be that someone is simply dressed coldly. In this case, everything can be easily corrected by simply insulating it. However, most often the disease is present in those who are nervously overloaded, have a bad habit of smoking, and are also susceptible to chronic fatigue syndrome.
The reasons for constantly cold hands are the same as for constantly cold feet. We can just add a few more:
- Thyroid disease. As a result of this disease, metabolic processes are disrupted. This leads to the fact that the mechanisms responsible for thermoregulation cease to cope with their work.
- Iodine or iron deficiency can also lead to cold hands syndrome. Doctors say that iron and iodine are the main sources and main guardians of good blood circulation.
- Osteochondrosis. As a result of deformation of the discs between the vertebrae, muscle spasms occur, which lead to compression of the vessels and nerves surrounding the spinal cord. Hence, blood circulation is disrupted and hands become cold.
Constant feeling of cold
A condition in which a person constantly feels chills is called hypothyroidism. During the cold season, you may not immediately recognize that the reason is not the terrible cold, but the body. This disease occurs in both men and women. But most often older people are susceptible to it.
The main causes of constant chills include:
- Hormonal disorder – dysfunction of the pituitary gland. People suffering from this disease are highly susceptible to fatigue and low blood pressure.
- Also, a feeling of cold can arise from a malfunction of the hypothalamus. This organ, or rather the gland, is responsible for regulating body temperature, weight control, and emotional state.
- Anemia.
- Lekemia.
- Disease of the musculoskeletal system can also lead to a feeling of cold.
