The Art Nouveau style is based on streamlined shapes that maintain a dynamic balance. This is manifested, first of all, in furniture - it has simple forms that do not complicate its use. Cabinets, shelves and other cabinet furniture could have a straight frame, but at the same time they were decorated with graceful curved fittings or frosted glazing. Armrests and legs of upholstered furniture often repeated the curves of the bodies of representatives animal or the plant world. For decoration, materials with stylized images of plants, insects or animals were used.
Modern modern style
Even from the moment this style more than a century has passed, it has not lost its relevance. The reason for this is the desire for everything new. Therefore, this style is quite acceptable to use for the design of the interiors of a modern home.
Now the Modern style is characterized by the presence of large spaces. The free layout and wide windows of modern apartments fit perfectly into the concept of modern Modernity. In comparison with the Modern of the last century, now this style carries great functionality. The color palette is dominated by three colors - gray, white and black in different versions and combinations.
Ornaments and patterns can only be used as a separate element, for example, in the form of a picture or panel on the wall, upholstery or wallpaper. The presence of smooth lines remains a mandatory element. Although it is now very difficult to abandon straight joints, they can be smoothed out by curved shapes of fittings, lamps and other functional additions.
Furniture must also adhere to the principle of functionality. No flower chairs or animal tables. Smooth lines with rounded corners, especially typical for upholstered furniture. The upholstery should be done in muted, strict colors.
Modern kitchen
The room of the kitchen, decorated in accordance with the Modern style, is distinguished by the thoughtfulness of every little detail and the minimum number of decoration elements. Everything should be functionally and rationally organized. These basic principles should become a guide to the choice of furniture and household appliances, as well as colors.
To create the effect of an open space, it is useful to use smooth and shiny surfaces, metal and glass. Kitchen furniture should be made of modern materials; modern functional equipment should be provided to facilitate culinary work. The floor can be decorated with ceramic tiles, laminate or modern linoleum. Ceiling decoration can be done in any way that is in harmony with the general interior of the room.
In the Art Nouveau style, you can easily arrange a kitchen of different sizes. For small kitchens, furniture should be placed along one wall or along two adjacent walls. If the area of the kitchen allows, then an island placement of furniture or in a U-shaped form would be an excellent option, in the center of the kitchen you can put a large dining table.
Living room in modern style
This style is very suitable for organizing space in rooms of different sizes. To create space in the room, a minimum amount of furniture and architectural details is required. For wall decoration, you should choose light shades of wallpaper with floral or an ornate pattern. The Art Nouveau style is characterized by the use of light pastel colors, which very favorably set off pieces of furniture in darker colors.
To add vibrant colors, you can hang abstract paintings or decorative panels on the walls. If funds allow, you can install interior doors with glass stained-glass windows. It is better to decorate the windows with plain curtains on a wooden cornice that do not attract attention.
Living room lighting should be multi-level. Hang a large chandelier in the center of the room as your main light source. Additional light sources will be sconces and floor lamps placed on the walls and on the floor.
Modern style bedroom
Room decoration and furniture should form a single picture, the main requirement in this case is functionality and interchangeability. The floor is best decorated with laminate or parquet.
