Homemade sea buckthorn drinks are a great way to boost your immune system. From sour sea buckthorn berries with a pleasant pineapple aroma, you can make tea, fruit drink, or just squeeze juice. All these drinks quench thirst well and enrich the body with valuable vitamins, which makes them especially relevant during the off-season.

Sea buckthorn juice

Sea buckthorn berry juice is considered to be very beneficial to health. It activates human immunity, improving its protective functions against viral diseases, raises the level of hemoglobin and relieves anemia. Making sea buckthorn juice is a snap. This will require:

  • 2 kg of sea buckthorn berries.
  • 400 ml of purified water.

To begin with, sea buckthorn berries must be cleaned of debris and rinsed in plenty of cool water. Then, having thrown back into a colander, the berries are kneaded and the mashed potatoes are transferred into an enamel container. Pure water is separately heated to 40 degrees and added to the mashed berries. After thoroughly mixing everything, the contents of the pan are heated again to 50 degrees and passed through a sieve, separating the bones. The resulting juice must be heated over low heat, but not brought to a boil and poured into sterilized glass jars. Having covered with lids, cans of juice are sent for pasteurization for a quarter of an hour. After that, the jars are tightly sealed and left to cool. Previously, the cans must be turned over the neck and wrapped in a warm blanket.

Sea buckthorn wine

Use sea ​​buckthorn wine you can not just for pleasure, but also for medicinal purposes. The drink contains ascorbic and folic acids, B-group vitamins, useful macro- and microelements. Wine made from sea buckthorn berries has a positive effect on the nervous system, is useful for raising immunity and protecting against atherosclerosis.

There are several options for making sea buckthorn wine. The easiest way to make a hoppy drink is from ready-made sea buckthorn juice, which can be made according to the previous recipe. To begin with, mix 1 liter of fresh sea buckthorn juice, 1.5 liters of filtered water and 3 glasses of granulated sugar. The components are mixed until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Then the resulting liquid is poured into a clean glass bottle and a rubber glove with a small puncture is put on top. In this container, the liquid will ferment for about a week. The glove will serve as a kind of indicator of the end of fermentation. As soon as it falls off, the process can be considered complete. The wine is passed through a filter and left for a week in a cool place. Then you need to move the wine to a dark room and leave to infuse for 1.5 months. After that, the finished drink is bottled.

Sea buckthorn tea

Cooking options for healthy sea ​​buckthorn tea a lot has been developed. A tasty and aromatic drink can be prepared both from berries and from the leaves of a thorny bush. For example, in the classic version, the recipe for making healthy tea looks like this:

  • 2 large spoons of loose black or green tea.
  • 150 g sea buckthorn berries.
  • 1 liter of purified water.
  • Granulated sugar.

First you need to sort out and rinse the berries well. Half of them must be mashed and mixed with sugar. The teapot needs to be warmed up with boiling water and tea is poured into it, mashed and whole berries are sent there and everything is poured with boiling water. After insisting for a quarter of an hour, the contents of the teapot are mixed well and filtered. Ready tea is poured into cups and served at the table.

Sea buckthorn compote

A delicious and healthy compote with an amazing pineapple aroma from sea buckthorn berries is very easy to prepare. Even the most inexperienced housewife can handle this drink quite successfully. For compote you will need:

  • 500 g of sea buckthorn berries.
  • 3 liters of filtered water.
  • 120 g granulated sugar.

The berries first need to be sorted out and washed. Then they are poured with cold water and, putting on the fire, brought to a boil. After boiling for 1 minute, remove the pan from heat and cover with a warm blanket. When the drink has cooled, it is filtered and sugar is added. After cooling, the finished compote can be served.

Compote can also be made from frozen berries. The recipe in this case will be slightly different. Frozen berries must be added to boiling water along with sugar and cooked for 5 minutes. Then the drink needs to be cooled and filtered.
