Why does acclimatization occur?
It's hard to find a person who doesn't like to travel. Travel is always a new experience, an opportunity to learn something interesting. However, not everyone can easily adapt to changes in time zones, climate or altitude. It takes time for a person to get used to it. This process is called acclimatization.

Symptoms of acclimatization
Acclimatization does not happen immediately, it is a gradual process. It usually begins the day after arriving at a new place and lasts three to four days. It can manifest itself in different ways, but the main symptoms are as follows:
- severe fatigue;
- sleep disturbance: insomnia or, conversely, excessive sleepiness;
- headaches that may occur in attacks;

- sudden mood swings;
- aches throughout the body;
- impaired coordination of movements;
- exacerbation of chronic diseases;
- poor appetite;
- state of apathy, indifference to everything that happens;
- slight increase in body temperature.
In addition, with acclimatization, a decrease in blood pressure, anxiety, and intestinal disorders are possible. Upon arrival at southern resorts, some tourists experience symptoms such as nausea and even vomiting. Often the culprit is not spoiled food, but normal acclimatization. To make unpleasant symptoms go away faster, you need to drink more water, do not overload your stomach with heavy food and avoid excessive physical activity.
How does acclimatization work in children?
Acclimatization is usually necessary for both adults and children. The child’s body often tolerates stress more easily, but not in terms of adapting to a new environment.
For example, when traveling to seaside resorts, this process can take at least five days. If child with allergies, symptoms may become more intense. Therefore, when traveling with a baby, pediatricians recommend planning a trip for at least 20 days, since a significant part of the time will be spent on travel and acclimatization.
Why does acclimatization occur?
Acclimatization is a negative reaction of the body to the need to adapt to new conditions. The climate in a new place may be much better, but the person is not used to it, so at first he may feel unwell.
Health status is influenced by temperature and air humidity, solar activity and other factors. All this affects not only physiology, but also the psyche. Symptoms of acclimatization can occur in anyone, but children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems are most often affected.
Most often, acclimatization occurs if a person goes from winter to summer; it is no coincidence that doctors do not recommend such trips. At this time, the process of heat transfer is disrupted for travelers, which causes disruptions in the functioning of the respiratory organs and cardiovascular system. In this case, your well-being is affected not only by the air temperature, but even by other food and drinking water at the resort.
Another type of acclimatization is high altitude. It often occurs among ski lovers, climbers and all people who are attracted to heights.
At this time, a person is much higher than sea level, which causes oxygen starvation. At this time, sudden changes in pressure and a decrease in hemoglobin levels may occur.
Experts believe that it is not worth fighting acclimatization. You shouldn’t torment your already tired body; it’s better to just rest for two or three days. Such passive rest is sometimes necessary: during this time the malaise will pass, and you can enjoy your rest from the bottom of your heart.
